Pitt Adds Billy Hubly to Coaching Staff
PITTSBURGH -- Pitt Panthers head coach Jeff Capel had an assistant coaching position to fill after assistant athletic director of scouting, Jake Presutti left to take an assistant coaching job with the Buffalo Bulls.
Capel has now filled that position, according to a report from George Michalowski of Pittsburgh Sports Now, by adding former South Florida Director of Player Development, Billy Hubly.
Hubly, a native of Elk Grove, Illinois, attended the University of St. Francis for both undergraduate and graduate school and earned a scholarship spot on their men's basketball team. He holds a bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration and a master's degree in Management and made all-conference teams three times during his basketball career.
He took his first job out of school at Georgia Tech, where he helped coordinate on-court individual instruction and practices, run annual summer basketball camps, analyze game and recruiting film, organize scouting materials, compile analytics reports and keep inventory of equipment. Hubly was promoted to video coordinator in 2015 after spending two seasons as a graduate assistant.
Hubly then took a job in the same role at East Carolina for the 2016-17 season and was promoted to assistant coach in November of 2017. The following year, he took over as Director of Player Development at USF and has since moved into a different role as video and social media coordinator for the Bulls.
