PITTSBURGH -- Pitt Panthers star Blake Hinson is on an absolute tear right now, building a first-team All-ACC resume as his team stacks enough wins to bring them back into the NCAA Tournament picture

National media is taking notice as Hinson emerges as one of the best 3-point shooters and scorers in all of college basketball. ESPN's Jeff Borzello named Hinson his "Player of the Week" after leading the Panthers to wins at No. 21 Virginia and Louisville.

"Pitt has played itself into NCAA tournament contention over the past month, winning seven of its past eight games -- including road wins at Duke and Virginia, and a home win over Wake Forest," Borzellow wrote. "Across that span, star Blake Hinson is averaging 21.5 points and 5.3 rebounds and shooting 50.7% from 3-point range. But the senior forward also took his game up a notch this past week."

Hinson averaged 34 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while knocking down 53.8% of his 3-pointers, 64.7% from 2-point range and 80% from the free throw line over those two contests. He dropped 27 points in an upset win over the Cavaliers, which also snapped Division I's longest home winning streak, before scoring an astounding 41 points - tied for the third-most in a game in school history and the most by a Panther at the Petersen Events Center - against the Cardinals.

Earlier last week, Hinson said Pitt "changed my life" and he's changing the Panthers' season down the stretch of the regular season.
