INDIANAPOLIS -- While Calijah Kancey is going through drills and participating. in team interviews, his friends on the Pitt Panthers' mens basketball team will be a two and a half hour drive north in South Bend, Indiana for a crucial matchup with Notre Dame during the home stretch of the regular season.

Before the Panthers square off with the Fighting Irish, needing just one more win to clinch at least a share of the ACC regular season title and top seed in the coming ACC Tournament, Kancey took time out of his press conference at the NFL Combine to recognize what that team had accomplished.

"I want to give a special shoutout to Pitt men's basketball," Kancey said. "They all stayed down and now it's all showing. They're all making it happen."

Kancey, an ACC Champion in 2021, said he gets "turnt" watching the Panthers this year as they've amassed 21 wins and close in on their first NCAA Tournament berth in seven years. He's hoping they can sustain the magic all the way through to an ACC Championship.

"That would be crazy," Kancey said. "We need that at the University of Pittsburgh."
