PHILADELPHIA -- Former Pitt Panthers guard Cameron Johnson has seen his role has undergone a major shih ft ever since he was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Brooklyn Nets in the deal that sent Kevin Durant out west.

The former Pitt star and Pittsburgh native is now a centerpiece of the sixth-seed in the NBA's Eastern Conference and is making a mark on this year's NBA Playoffs just two games into the Nets' opening round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Johnson threw down a furious dunk on MVP front-runner Joel Embiid in Game 2.

When he's not posterizing MVP candidates, Johnson has been a consistent force for Nets. He's averaged 16.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists over 30.8 minutes per game in 25 appearances - all starts - in his short tenure with the Nets. All of those averages would be career-highs if sustained over a full season.

In the playoffs, he's taken his game to another level despite his team losing the first two matchups with Philadelphia. Johnson scored 18 points on 7-11 shooting and grabbed four rebounds in Game 1 and in Game 2, scored 28 points on 11-19 shooting, along with four rebounds, an assist, a blocks and two steals.
