PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers forward John HUgley continues to be a popular name in the transfer portal. He's drawn plenty of interests from high major schools and will be taking a visit to another this week.

Hugley has a new visit scheduled, according to a report from On3 recruiting insider Joe Tipton. Hugley told Tipton he would be in Oxford, Mississippi to visit with the new staff at Ole Miss.

The Rebels just went through a coaching change, opting to bring in fired Texas head coach Chris Beard to lead their program. Beard is using the portal to build a program that has little history to speak of and he hopes Hugley will be a part of that rebuild.

Hugley's already taken visits to Oklahoma and Georgia Tech and has others in the works. Memphis, Nebraska, West Virginia, Vanderbilt, UCF, Penn State, Arkansas, Michigan, Oregon, Miami, Rutgers, Xavier, LSU, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Maryland, Wisconsin, Butler, Dayton, Ohio, Arizona State, Georgia, Duquesne, Oakland, Loyola Marymount and Cleveland State are some of the other schools to have contacted Hugley after he entered the transfer portal.

Hugley took a step back in his junior year after suffering a knee injury during the preseason. He averaged just eight points and 3.8 rebounds per game over just eight games this season, one year after averaging 14.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists on 47.1% shooting from the field. He was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention for his efforts at the end of the 2021-22 season.
