PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers were one of a handful of schools to reach out to former Cornell forward Chris Manon, who is in the transfer portal looking for a new home for the 2024-25 season.

Manon, a 6'5 senior from New Jersey, has fielded interest from Arkansas, Clemson, UMass, Davidson, Delaware, Georgetown, Iona, James Madison, Loyola-Chicago, Minnesota, Richmond, Rhode Island and St. Joseph's in addition to Pitt.

Manon averaged a career-high 12.5 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists whole shooting 56.4% from the field and 33.8% from 3-point range, with 2.2 steals as well for good measure.

He struggled in a road trip to Syracuse, scoring 7 points on 2-11 shooting before fouling out after 19 minutes. He bounced back with a 14-point, 4-assist, 4-steal night against Baylor later in the year. That represents his only action against Power 5 teams last year.

Blake Hinson and fellow senior K.J. Marshall are the only ones who are expected to depart the team as of right now and with two high school recruits incoming, the Panthers have one open scholarship at this time. There could be some more attrition over the course of the offseason, as is to be expected in this day and age of college basketball, but none has been announced yet for Pitt.
