PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have added another guard to their transfer recruiting board. A new name entered the portal this week and he was quickly contacted by Jeff Capel and company.

Andrew Taylor, a 6'3 and 185-pound guard from Corbin, Kentucky, is looking to change schools after spending four seasons at Marshall. Pitt was one of many schools to reach out in the hours after he entered the portal. Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida State, LSU and others made contact as well.

Taylor has averaged double-figure scoring in each of his four seasons with the Thundering Herd, but took his game to new heights during the 2022-23 season. Taylor averaged career-highs in points (20.2 per game), assists (4.7 per game), free throw percentage (80%), minutes (36.6 per game) and steals (2.1 per game). He made 45% of his two-point attempts and 36.4% of his 3-pointers on a personal-high of 19 shots per game.

The Panthers are fresh off a visit from priority transfer target Noah Thomasson, a prolific scoring guard from Niagra, who was in town last week. Pitt has two more scholarships to burn and they could use both on Thomasson and Taylor, or look to add one and then search for a backup frontcourt player elsewhere, which they also need.
