WASHINGTON, DC -- Pitt Panthers guard Ishmael Leggett was awarded ACC Sixth Man of the Year honors on Monday, making him the second player in program history to win the award.

Leggett averaged 11.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists on 41.9% shooting from the field and 34.4% from behind the arc during the regular season while playing 28.4 minutes per game. In total, he finished third on the Panthers in scoring and first in both rebounds and steals.

Leggett started the first 14 contests of the year before missing Pitt's matchup against Louisville on Jan. 6 with a shoulder injury that he had suffered a week prior against Syracuse. He filled the sixth man role for the rest of the season upon returning against Duke on Jan. 9 while the Panthers went 11-5 in conference play during that stretch on their way to a fourth-place finish.

Leggett began his career at Rhode Island during the 2020-21 campaign and spent a total of three seasons there, averaging 10.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists over 87 games.

A Pitt Panther has now won the award in consecutive seasons after Nike Sibande did so while averaging 8.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists during the program's run to the NCAA Tournament last season.
