PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will enter next season without four of their top guards. With Jamarius Burton, Nelly Cummings, Greg Elliot and Nike Sibande headed out after graduating, head coach Jeff Capel and company have been looking for some replacements through the transfer portal.

One potential candidate for the Panthers could be CU Riverside transfer Zyon Pullin, who told ESPN's Jeff Borzello through his own agent this week that he would enter the transfer portal. As an experienced player, prolific scorer and strong passer, Pullin would be a good fit for Pitt.

At 6'4, Pullin brings excellent size to the position and his years of productive playing time at the Divison I level could be mightily useful for the Panthers, whose backcourt is suddenly very young. Pullin is also a creative offensive player, who can score from all levels, create open shots for teammates and rebound well for a guard.

Pullin has averaged more than 30 minutes and double-figure scoring per night ever since his sophomore year but the two-time All-Big West honoree took his game to another level this past season, when he averaged 18.3 points, 4.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds while making 39% from 3-point range and 50% from inside the arc.

Because he will be an immediately eligible graduate transfer, he did not need to announce his intentions. He has entered his name into the NBA Draft process but is entertaining a return to school as well. He will go through a pro day in Los Angeles next week.
