PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have their hearts set on one sharp-shooting transfer currently exploring his options in the portal and hope to land a commitment from him when he takes his official visit in two weeks.

Noah Thomasson, a 6'3 lefty guard formerly of Niagra, will visit with Jeff Capel and the Panthers from May 5-6, according to a report from George Michalowski of Pittsburgh Sports Now and The Portal Report.

A separate report from Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette claims Thomasson is Pitt's "top priority." in the portal. After adding two strong scorers and rebounders in former Rhode Island guard Ishmael Leggett and High Point wing Zack Austin, the Panthers are off searching for shooting to help them replace the three 34% or better shooters from outside that will graduate this spring.

It's clear to see why Thomasson is an attractive candidate for Pitt. He averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game while making 38.6% of his 3-point shots and 52.1% of his 2-point shots. He started all 31 games he appeared in for Niagra last season, averaging 36.4 minutes per game on the way to First Team All-MAAC honors.

Georgia, San Francisco, Penn State, Oklahoma State, St. John’s, Pitt, and California are the ones recruiting him the hardest, according to Michalowski. He has already visited San Francisco and Georgia and has trips to St. John's and Penn State scheduled as well. He will be immediately eligible as a graduate transfer.
