PITTSBURGH -- For the second straight year, the Pitt Panthers and North Carolina Tar Heels will play under the lights in a primetime game.

Pitt will host North Carolina for an 8:00 p.m. kickoff from Acrisure Stadium, the ACC announced this week. The league also revealed that ACC Network will carry the broadcast of the Panthers' 2023 ACC opener.

The Panthers fell, 42-24 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina last year, despite holding a 24-21 lead entering the fourth quarter. They were outscored 21-0 in the final period to suffer their third loss in four games to that point. From there, Pitt rattled off four straight regular season games to finish 8-4 and added another victory in the bowl game.

But before they open conference play against the Tar Heels, the Panthers have a monumental task awaiting them in Week 3. They'll travel to Morgantown, West Virginia for a date with West Virginia in primetime on ABC this Saturday.
