PITTSBURGH -- Watch list season continues to roll on as college football players from around the country begin the first stage of preparation for the real games that kick off beginning at the end of this month. The front seven of the Pitt Panthers has already been laden with praise this offseason, but the accolades aren't done rolling in.

Defensive tackle Calijah Kancey and linebacker SirVocea Dennis, two key leaders in Pitt's defense, were named to the Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List on Monday. It's given by the Rotary Club of Houston to the best linebacker or lineman in college football for that year.

Dennis and Kancey make up part of the outstanding 'spine' of Pitt's defense. Dennis, the Panthers' leading tackler from a season ago, was named a second team All-ACC player last year while Kancey earned first team honors along the line. Kancey is up for a multitude of national awards, including the Walter Camp Player of the Year, Chuck Bednarik Award and Outland Trophy.
