PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have added a new, but familiar opponent to their future non-conference schedule.

Pitt and UConn have scheduled a home-and-home series for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, the Huskies announced on Twitter this week. They will revive an old Big East series that has been dormant for more than a decade, ever since the Panthers left for the ACC.

The first game will be played on October 30, 2027 in Pittsburgh and the return game will take place on November 4, 2028 in Hartford, Connecticut.

The Panthers and Huskies have met nine times since becoming conference-mates in the Big East prior to the 2004 season. Pitt owns a 5-4 edge in the all-time series but hasn't won since a 35-20 victory in the 2011 season, which was also the last time these two teams met in Pittsburgh.

Pitt already has a game against Wisconsin on the 2027 slate and will host Notre Dame during the 2028 season.
