PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have moved quietly in the transfer portal but weren't done adding players and their latest pick-up won't have to go far to find his new home.

This week, former Steel Valley High School and Duquesne linebacker Todd Hill committed to Pitt, giving linebackers coach Ryan Manalac one of the extra bodies head coach Pat Narduzzi said he was hoping to add to his room.

Hill, a 5'10 and 240-pound backer who aslo played defensive line, was a three-time All-NEC selection during his time with the Dukes on the Bluff, the latest of which came in 2022 when he amassed 61 tackles, 22 for loss, 11.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 11 games. Against Florida State, who the Panthers face this season, he recorded two tackles, a tackle for loss and a sack.

He entered the transfer portal knowing he had suffered a torn pectoral muscle, which made the decision to leave Duquesne risky but Hill's gamble on his own abilities paid off with a chance to play at the Power 5 level. Hill has been rehabbing and working out at Pitt's facilities since April, according to a report from Karl Ludwig of Pittsburgh Sports Now
