Pitt WR Shows Impressive Speed at NFL Combine
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers wideout Bub Means is taking the next step in his pursuit of a professional football career at the NFL Combine this week and posted some impressive numbers for his measurements and in the on-field testing.
Means, Pitt's leading wide receiver this past season, checked in at 6'1 and 213 pounds, but still managed to run the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds, the eighth-fastest time among this year's wide receiver class and the 22nd-fastest of anyone at the NFL Combine.
Means finished the 2023 campaign with 41 receptions for 721 yards, ranking eighth in the ACC, while also pacing the team with six touchdowns.
Means began his career at Tennessee and redshirted his freshman year there in 2019 before transferring to Louisiana Tech. After sitting out the 2020 season, Means recorded 430 yards and two touchdowns on 22 receptions in his first collegiate action with the Bulldogs. He went on to transfer to Pitt ahead of the 2022 season and posted 401 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 27 receptions that year.
