PITTSBURGH -- The Cincinnati Bengals lost their starting long snapper Clark Harris to injury during their season opener vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend, which led to some untimely special teams mistakes and a 23-20 loss. To make sure they don't have to roll out tight end Mitchell Wilcox as an emergency long snapper again next week, the Bengals promoted former Pitt Panther Cal Adomitis to the active roster.

Adomitis, who signed with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent this spring, had previously been cut by the team during their last round of roster cuts but was signed to the practice squad not long after.

Adomitis put together a decorated career at Pitt that included a first-team All-American selection by the American Football Coaches Association in 2021 and distinction as the Patrick Mannelly Award winner for best senior long snapper at the FBS level that same year. He played in and started each of his 64 career games dating back to 2017.
