PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers defense suffered a serious blow on defense in their Week 6 matchup with Virginia Tech.
Linebacker Dennis SirVocea appears to have suffered an injury in the first half against the Hokies. As the team returned to the field in the second half, the inside linebacker was not present.
The undisclosed injury is expected to have happened near the end of the first half. No reports saw what happened to the senior.
Without SirVocea, Pitt will operate with Tylar Wiltz and Solomon DeShields at linebacker. Backup inside linebacker Brandon George is also hurt and did not dress for the game.
