PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are days away from their Week 1 matchup with the West Virginia Mountaineers, and after weeks of training camp, the team has their first official depth chart.

Kedon Slovis will lead the Panthers offense onto the field as the starting quarterback, but Pitt gets a few big names on both sides of the ball in bigger roles this season.

Gabe Houy has dealt with an Achilles injury during training camp and has not practiced for the Panthers. He is listed as the starter but did not start in the opener against West Virginia. In his place was Matt Concalves.

Third-string quarterback will be redshirt freshman Nate Yarnell who beat out Dartmouth transfer Derek Kyler during camp.

On the defensive side of the ball, Bangally Kamara, SirVocea Dennis and Shayne Simon will lead the pack at linebacker. Simon, the Notre Dame transfer, made an immediate impact earning his way into the starting lineup for his loan season with Pitt.
