Jets Sign Former Pitt OT Carter Warren to Rookie Deal
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers offensive tackle had already received a jersey number and begun working out with his new team, the New York Jets, after being selected 120th overall in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. But one thing was missing - a contract.
Now Warren is officially an NFL player after inking his rookie deal with the Jets this week. Warren signed on the dotted line for a contract worth $4,584,320 over four seasons with a signing bonus worth $750,000.
Warren had been a mainstay in the Pitt offensive line since 2019. He started 38 of his final 39 games at left tackle before a torn meniscus kept him sidelined for the final nine contests of 2022.
He was considered a prime draft candidate following his impressive 2021 campaign, but returned to school to better his draft stock. He was named a captain prior to the start of his fifth and final season in college football.
