INDIANAPOLIS -- Kenny Pickett and Jordan Addison combined to become one of the deadliest quarterback-wide receiver combinations in college football during the 2021 season, when the Pitt Panthers won 11 games and an ACC Championship. A reunion could be on the way with Pickett as the Pittsburgh Steelers look to surround him with playmakers from this year's loaded wide receiver class.

Addison said the Steelers were one of the first teams to meet with him formally at the NFL Combine and he hopes they follow through on reviving the connection between these two Pitt stars.

“If we reunite, that’d be cool," Addison said. "Really easy transition. Come get me.”

Pickett is one of the many former Pitt teammates that Addison keeps in close contact with. Addison said he and Pickett were training this winter in the same city in Florida and they spoke before he came out to Indianapolis for the NFL Combine.

Their connection already existed from the two very successful years they spent together as Panthers. Addison and Pickett combined for 160 catches, 2,259 yards and 21 touchdowns. Addison took home the Biletnikoff Award while Pickett was named a Heisman Finalist in both their final years at Pitt in 2021.

“We had a really good relationship," Addison said. "Coming in, I wanted to make sure I was looked at as a really focused individual. So once I got there, he noticed that. Say we’re going through routes, he wanted to make sure I was the first receiver up so we could start that connection early and we just transferred that off the field and we built it.”

Addison thinks it would make for a seamless transition to the NFL if he can join Pickett on the Steelers, so he's hoping they get reunited at the end of April when the NFL Draft is held.

“It would help the transition a lot," Addison said. "Just having your former quarterback, you’ve already got a relationship number one and then that trust factor. Once you’re running your routes, he’ll be looking for you at a certain spot at the right time.”
