PITTSBURGH -- He ended his career as a Pitt Panther as one of, if not the, best quarterback in school history and a year removed from his graduation, Kenny Pickett is considered one of the best at his position from the past 23 years of college football.

ESPN's Bill Connelly published a list of

the top 75 quarterbacks in college football since 2000 and Pitt's own Pickett checked in at No. 60.

"He began his career with an upset of No. 2 Miami and ended it finishing third in the Heisman voting," Connelly wrote. "Everything came together in an epic senior season (4,319 yards, 42 touchdowns)."

Pickett had his coming out party at then-Heinz Field in 2017 when he threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns while rushing in one more in a 24-14 win over the previously undefeated Hurricanes.

From there on, Pickett was a steady force at quarterback for the Panthers for the next four seasons, compiling a 20-15 record as a starter before his legendary 2021 season. In his final act, Pickett was the catalyst for a record-setting offense that fueled an 11-win season and helped capture the school's first outright conference title in school history.

Pickett left Pitt as the all-time leader in passing yards, completions, total offense, touchdowns responsible for, passing touchdowns and rushing touchdowns by a quarterback.
