Pitt Legend Earns Another NFL All-Pro Selection
PITTSBURGH -- It was only a momentary absence from the NFL's All-Pro First-Team for former Pitt Panthers defensive tackle Aaron Donald.
After missing 11 games due to injury in 2022-23, Pitt legend Aaron Donald was back on the Associated Press' 2023-24 All Pro First-Team, his eighth selection to this elite group of players in 10 seasons as a professional for Donald.
Donald sat out the regular season finale with the Rams having already locked up a playoff spot, but still amassed 53 tackles, 16 for a loss, eight sacks and three passes defended in 16 appearances, all while consistently drawing double and triple teams as one of the sport's biggest game-wreckers.
Donald also earned a Pro Bowl nod for his efforts this season, a historic 10 selection. He's the first defensive lineman since 1970 to make the Pro Bowl in each of his first 10 seasons as an NFL player and his decade's worth of Pro Bowl selections are second in Pitt history only to wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who amassed 11 during his storied career with the Arizona Cardinals.
He was the only former Pitt player to make the Pro Bowl or either the first or second All-Pro teams this season.
