Report: Pitt Loses Assistant QB Coach
PITTSBURGH -- A young assistant coach appears to have quietly left the Pitt Panthers football program.
Jonathan DiBasio, an assistant quarterbacks coach and offensive graduate assistant for the Panthers last season, is no longer on head coach Pat Narduzzi's staff, according to a report from Chris Peak of Panther Lair.
DiBasio is no longer listed on Pitt's website as a member of the coaching staff and his Twitter account has been deleted.
This news comes out of left field and no new information about why DiBasio has moved on or where he will go next has surfaced. He was the right-hand man to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Frank Cignetti and occupied a very hands-on role coaching Pitt's quarterbacks. He was also one of the program's primary recruiters in New England, where they've been active looking for new talent over the past couple of years.
