PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers snuck one more member into their 2024 recruiting class just under the wire on the second signing day of the recruiting cycle.

Pitt now has 21 players signed to join the program for the 2024 season after Thomasville, Georgia native and three-star tight end Malachi Thomas signed with the Panthers this week.

Thomas is rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, who also ranked him as the No. 94 tight end in the class of 2024 and No. 176 recruit overall in the state of Georgia. He picked the Panthers over offers from Florida Atlantic, Georgia State, Buffalo, Charlotte, Troy, UAB and others. Pitt was his only Power 5 offer, but he did take a visit to Florida State.

A two-time All-Georgia 6A selection during his career at Thomas County Central High School, Thomas finished the 2023 season with 42 receptions for 570 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Panthers signed two prospects on the February signing day - Thomas and three-star Louisiana wide receiver prospect Tyreek Robinson.
