PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will be without one starter and one back up on the offensive side of the ball when they take on Syracuse this weekend.

Starting right guard B.J. Williams and second-string tight end Karter Johnson did not make the trip to New York City for the Panthers' penultimate road game of the season at Yankee Stadium, according to Pitt's travel roster.

Williams has started six games at right guard for Pitt this season, including each of the last five contests. He typically rotates in with sixth-year senior Jason Collier Jr., so it's fair to assume Collier Jr., listed as a co-starter on the depth chart, will get the start.

Johnson has rotated in frequently with the first-team offense, even earning a handful of starts alongside Gavin Bartholomew when the Panthers choose to run two tight end sets. He has just three catches for 84 yards this season, however. Expect Malcolm Epps and Jake Renda to see an increase in playing time with Johnson out.
