Pitt Offers Former Villanova DB

The Pitt Panthers are looking to add more depth to the defensive secondary.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers already added one transfer defensive back this week but are looking for another as the offseason rolls on and National Signing Day approaches.

Pitt extended an offer to another transfer defensive back, Devon Marshall, who is leaving Villanova after two seasons with the Wildcats. He will have a chance to step up to the FBS level, with Boston College, Indiana, Cincinnati and West Virginia having extended offers as well.

Marshall, a 6'0 and 200-pound native of Boston, Massachusetts, appeared in 22 games over the past two seasons and made 60 total tackles over that span while also adding 3.5 tackles for loss and 13 passes defended.

The Panthers are awaiting a decision from senior cornerback M.J. Devonshire, who has eligibility remaining but could decide to declare for the NFL Draft, too. Fellow senior starters A.J. Woods and Marquis Williams have already declared for the Draft, leaving just a handful of young and inexperienced corners behind on the Panthers' roster.
