Pitt Locks Down Four-Star DL Commit
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers scored a recruiting win over the weekend and will keep a four-star defensive lineman in their 2024 class.
Sincere Edwards, a four-star recruit from Apopka, Flordia, announced over the weekend that he would be shutting down his recruitment with nine days until National Signing Day, and honor his commitment to Pitt.
Edwards is a one-time UCF commit who flipped to Pitt over the summer as the Panthers and Knights battled for a handful of common recruits.
After decommitting from UCF, Edwards took visits to Maryland, Penn State and Pitt, ultimately choosing the Panthers following his trip to the Steel City. Georgia Tech, Colorado, Arkansas, NC State, Purdue, Louisville and Michigan State had also extended offers.
Edwards is rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals and a three-star player by ESPN, 247Sports and On3. The 6'3, 240-pound senior is ranked as high as the No. 53 player in Florida and No. 23 defensive lineman in the class of 2024 (Rivals).
He's racked up 38 total tackles, five sacks, seven tackles for loss and a pass defended in 10 games during his senior season.
