Pitt HC Pat Narduzzi Linked to Michigan State Again
PITTSBURGH -- Michigan State has announced that they intend to fire head coach Mel Tucker for cause after Brenda Tracy - a rape survivor and activist - accused him of sexual harassment and, according to one college football insider, Pitt Panthers head coach Pat Narduzzi has once again been linked to the now vacant job.
Brett McMurphy of Action Network named Narduzzi as one of six candidates Michigan State is looking into, alongside Duke head coach Mike Elko, Arkansas offensive coordinator Dan Enos, current LSU and former Pitt defensive coordinator Matt House, Marshall head coach Charles Huff and Wisconsin defensive coordinator Mike Tressel. Most of them either played or coached for the Spartans.
Michigan State would likely be able to extend a more lucrative contract offer than Pitt can, especially considering the new, larger payouts that will come from an expanding Big 10, but by that same virtue, it's a tougher job than Pitt is at the present moment. Narduzzi is currently under contract with the Panthers through 2030. His salary for the 2020-21 fiscal year was $4.47 million, making him the highest-paid employee at Pitt.
