PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers suffered a comprehensive beating from the Cincinnati Bearcats for their first loss of the season in Week 2 and as they went down by as many as 20 points, the home fans at Acrisure Stadium voiced their displeasure with loud boos.

Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi, who said he took full responsibility for the loss, brushed off the boos, saying he didn't hear them and hoped the players didn't as well.

"Yeah, they were probably booing me," Narduzzi said. "Number one, I don't hear it, and fans are going to be passionate. I really don't care about the guy that's in his basement on Twitter. I hope our kids don't listen to that."

But one player did hear them and was not happy about it. Starting quarterback Phil Jurkovec, who went 10 for 32 with 179 passing yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions, even went as far to call out fans in his postgame press conference. He called the booing "pathetic" and told fans who did boo to look at themselves first.

Narduzzi said at the beginning of the following week of practice that he didn't see what Jurkovec had said, nor did he address the postgame comments with his starting quarterback

"Didn't really hear about it and it doesn't really matter," he said.
