Pitt Reveals Phil Jurkovec’s Jersey Number
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are back on the field, beginning spring practice at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
With spring ball, the media got their first look at the newest Panthers, including their next starting quarterback Phil Jurkovec - who was repping his No. 5 jersey at practice.
Jurkovec wore No. 5 at Boston College and No. 15 at Notre Dame. He'll stay on track at Pitt and he looks to refind the Panthers' passing game after a down year with Kedon Slovis.
Pitt's new quarterback steps on the field for Pitt to come full circle during his college career. After initially being recruited by Pitt coming out of Pine-Richland High School as an All-American, he ended up heading to Notre Dame. From there, he went to Boston College, and after three years for the Eagles, he's back in his hometown playing for the Panthers.
Pitt will continue practicing throughout March and April before they take the field at Acrisure Stadium for their Spring Game on April 15.
