Pitt DL Goes Down With Injury Against Syracuse
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers lost a veteran defensive lineman in the second half of their Week 10 contest against Syracuse at Yankee Stadium in New York.
Bentley went down early in the third quarter, holding his right ankle Pitt trainers came to attend to him on the field for a few moments and had to help him walk off the field and to the sideline.
The Panthers had been struggling to contain the Orange rushing attack. They had allowed 4.9 yards per rush and 163 rushing yards overall by the time Bentley left the game. His absence will certainly make it harder for Pitt to hold their opponents in check on the ground.
Bentley has racked up 19 total tackles, two for a loss and half of a sack in nine appearances going into this week. He made two stops against Syracuse before leaving the game.
