PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt 2022 Panthers’ Choice Awards took place over the weekend with the football team cleaning home with a number of winners.

Players like Kenny Pickett, Jordan Addison, Gavin Bartholomew, Cal Adomitis took home awards, as well as Chris LaSala and the team as a whole.

Pickett won the Male Athlete of the Year (Panther Award), which is given "to the student-athletes who have the most outstanding athletic performances of the past year of competition & were instrumental in both individual and team success."

Pickett threw for 4,319 yards and 42 touchdowns in 2021 on his way to a Heisman Trophy finalist and the team's first ACC Championship.

Bartholomew was awarded the Gold Standard Teammate (Newcomer of the Year), which "goes to the student-athlete from each team who most effectively inspired his or her team through exemplary commitment, composure and integrity."

The true freshman recorded 326 yards and four touchdowns on 28 receptions.

Addison won the Male Performance of the Year for his efforts against Virginia. The wide out caught 14 passes for 202 yards and four touchdowns.

Adomitis won the Blue-Gold Award, given to the "senior student-athletes who best represent the student-athlete ‘ideal.'"

Adomitis raised over $100,000 for UPMC Children's Hospital. His initial goal was $94,000.

And finally, the Pitt Panthers as a whole was the Team Moment of the Year for their ACC Championship victory.

From Pickett's fake slide to a game that started on Dec. 4 and went into Dec. 5, the Panthers victory was nothing short of amazing. As was most of the 2021 season.
