PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers superstar Kenny Pickett had a rough day as his Pittsburgh Steelers fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 20-10 at Acrisure Stadium.

Pickett, a former first-round pick of the Steelers coming out of Pitt, suffered a rib injury on a brutal hit just before halftime and did not return to the game.

He was helped off the field after being tended to by trainers, then escorted to the blue medical tent before leaving the sideline entirely. Pickett came back out after halftime and warmed up but did not reenter the game.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin did not have an update on the severity of Pickett's injury immediately following the game.

Pickett had been struggling up to that point as the Steelers battled the elements and a furious Jaguars pass rush. He completed just 10 of 16 passes for 73 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. The Steelers had scored just three points by the time he exited the game.
