PITTSBURGH -- A former Pitt Panthers and Arizona Cardinals great will try to rally his hometown team from down 2-0 in the National League Championship Series this week.

As the Phillies-Diamondbacks series shifts back to Arizona, the best wide receiver in Pitt and Cardinals history and a sure-fire Pro Football Hall of Famer, Larry Fitzgerald will throw out the first pitch of Game 3 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, according to a report from Bob Nightengale of the USA Today.

As a Panther, he set the single-season school receiving yards record and career receiving touchdowns record, ranks sixth in program history in receiving yards despite spending just two years in college and came within inches of a Heisman Trophy.

He also ranks second all-time in NFL receiving yards and sixth in career touchdowns after a career spent solely in Arizona.

The Diamondbacks, who were blanked in a Game 2 loss at Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, could use an offensive spark and are channeling one of the most productive weapons in NFL history to get it.
