PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers made two notable changes to their Week 8 depth chart as they prepare to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

The alteration to Pitt's quarterback order was the headliner, with Week 1 starter Phil Jurkovec having been officially demoted to third-string. Redshirt sophomore Nate Yarnell has been elevated to a backup role, with Christian Veilleux retaining his starting job after a strong starting debut against No. 14 Louisville.

Prior to kickoff against the Cardinals, Jurkovec, listed as the second-stringer entering the week, was taking snaps from Trey Anderson, who has played mostly as a special teamer. Meanwhile, Nate Yarnell, listed as the third-string quarterback, took snaps from B.J. Williams.

Speaking of the offensive line, there was an alteration at center, with Terrance Moore having been elevated to co-starter with Jake Kradel, who had been listed as the sole starter entering Louisville week despite missing the two previous games with an undisclosed injury.

Head coach Pat Narduzzi said there is a better chance that Kradel could be back this week, but what position he'll play is an open question.

Given Kradel's experience at guard, Moore's competency at center, the uneven play of Jason Collier Jr. and B.J. Williams at guard and Blake Zubovic's absence from the Louisville game, the Panthers could consider keeping Moore at center and moving Kradel back to guard. Offensive line coach Dave Borbley said last week that he likes Kradel at guard, his natural position, more than center but hadn't decided on anything final yet.
