John Meyer, director of basketball scouting at 247Sports wrote a glowing review of Johnson's game and sees enormous potential in the 6-foot-3 point guard.

"Good length and stature for a point guard," Meyer wrote. "Quick athlete with superb body control. Has tremendous instincts as a driver and passer. Delivers the difficult pass. Finishes the difficult shot. High-level lay up maker. Has multiple fade-away moves to his right shoulder. Shoots the ball well enough to be considered a three-level scorer. Has potential to rebound his position well and be a dangerous versatile defender."

Johnson, who is in the class of 2022, holds 19 offers in all from Syracuse, Alabama, LSU and a host of other high-major schools. He is a top-10 player at his position and in the state of California, according to 247Sports.

With just one scholarship remaining, the Panthers are close to rounding out their 2022-23 roster. Johnson would be a welcome addition, even though right now it appears that Colgate transfer Nelly Cummings will run the show as a lead guard.
