PITTSBURGH -- A more than two-year long commitment to Miami has ended for Lamar Seymore, a three-star wide receiver in the class of 2023 from Miami, Florida. The former Miami Central High School star - who's since transferred to rival Miami Northwestern High - announced that he had reopened his recruitment after being pledged to the Hurricanes since he was a sophomore.

Since giving a verbal to Manny Diaz's Hurricanes in April 2020, Seymore has gained offers from Tennessee, Florida State, Penn State, West Virginia, UCF, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Georgia, Oklahoma, Colorado, Michigan State and Pitt. 

The Panthers offered in late May and Seymore took an official visit last weekend. He's made just one other official visit to Orlando and Gus Malzahn's Knights. 

Seymore is the No. 114 wide receiver in his class and No. 117 2023 player in the state of Florida according to 247Sports.

Stephen Thompson graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Pitt in April 2022 after spending four years as a sports writer and editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's independent, student-run newspaper.  He primarily worked the Pitt men's basketball beat, and filled in on coverage of football, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and lacrosse, in addition to other sports as needed.
