PITTSBURGH -- One of the Pitt Panthers' highest-rated recruits in the class of 2024 took a major leap up in national recruiting rankings this week as 247Sports released its new Top 247 list.

Holmes, a 6'4 and 290-pound interior lineman from Fairburn, Georgia, moved up almost 100 spots from No. 282 to No. 187 in the newest rankings. Holmes is the only Pitt commit to have cracked the top 247 list.

The Panthers missed on adding four-star defensive back Koy Beasley - the No. 148 prospect in the class of 247 who committed to Purdue this week - but still owns the No. 20 class in the country and

He chose Pitt over offers from Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Boston College and others. Holmes was the fourth offensive lineman to give a verbal pledge to the Panthers, joining three-star prospects Mason Lindsay, Adham Abouraya and Jiavani Cooley.
