PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers were unable to land another four-star prospect from the class of 2024 after missing on three other players of the same caliber last week.

Elias Rudolph, a blue-chip defensive end from Deerfield Beach, Florida, included Pitt as he cut his list down to five alongside Michigan, Cincinnati, Ohio State and Penn State then readjusted to a final three of Miami, Pitt and Michigan. With his final decision, Rudolph chose the Wolverines.

Pitt made Rudolph's top five in May and earned a visit from the blue-chip defensive end in early June. He also visited Penn State and Michigan, who made his list of finalists alongside Ohio State and Cincinnati.

Rudolph held offers from Florida State, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Iowa, Purdue, Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Boston College, West Virginia and others that he spurned for those five finalists.

Rudolph, a 6'3 and 200-pound backer, is ranked as high as the No. 4 player in the talent-rich Sunshine State (Rivals) and No. 15 linebacker (247Sports). ESPN ranks him as high as the No. 150 player in the country.
