PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are hoping to get some more good recruiting news later this week when a blue-chip 2024 defender announces his commitment.

William Love, a four-star linebacker from Camden, New Jersey and Woodrow Wilson High School, trimmed a top seven list down to just four, according to a report from Pittsburgh Sports Now. He'll choose between Pitt, Syracuse, Rutgers and Maryland on July 6. Penn State, West Virginia and Texas A&M did not make the cut.

Love has visited Rutgers, Penn State, Syracuse and Maryland multiple times, with additional stops at Florida State. He visited Pitt last May, when he also picked up an offer from the Panthers.

He chose those four out of list of offers that included Georgia, Oregon, Miami, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Boston College, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Charlotte, Temple and Liberty.

Love is ranked as high as the No. 4 player in the state of New Jersey by Rivals and ESPN. ESPN also ranked him in the No. 14 linebacker and No. 173 overall prospect in the class of 2024. He is unanimously considered a top-10 player in his state.
