PITTSBURGH -- The 2023 spring AAU season is wrapping up and the Nike EYBL Peach Jam, one of the premier high school basketball competitions on the calendar, is rapidly approaching. Ahead of that important scouting event, several Pitt Panthers targets have earned recognition for their play on the EYBL circuit.

Five Pitt targets who played on the EYBL circuit this spring earned honors from The Circuit, an outlet that covers AAU competition.

Darius Acuff, Trey McKenney, Maleek Thomas and Jaoson Sanon - a quartet of 2025 prospects - all landed on the All-Underclass team. Acuff was also named to the All-EYBL First Team and took home Underclass MVP honors after averaging 20.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game over 17 contests.

Sanon and McKenney heard from the Pitt coaching staff following the end of the dead period but don't yet hold offers. Pitt has extended an offer to Acuff and was, in fact, one of the first to do so. Thomas also holds an offer from the Panthers.

Austin Swartz, a 2024 guard who picked up an offer from the Panthers earlier this month, averaged 21 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game on the way to second-team consideration. McKenney, who is teammates with Acuff on Michigan-based The Family, was also named to the second team after posting 16.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
