PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers added a sixth commit to its 2024 high school recruiting class with the addition of tight end Eric Ingwerson. Head coach Pat Narduzzi announced the commitment earlier in the week, and Ingwerson confirmed it was him a couple of days later.

Ingwerson, rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, hails from Papillion, Nebraska, stands 6'7 tall and weighs 235 pounds. He held three offers from Northern Iowa, Northern Illinois and Pitt. Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska also expressed interest, but never offered. 247Sports has him as the No. 11 player in his state and the No. 148 tight end in the class of 2024.

He is the first tight end to commit to this class for the Panthers. He joins defensive lineman Jashear Whittington, receiver DayDay Farmer, running back Julez Goff, and defensive linemen Francis Brewu and Ty Yuhas in a 2024 class for Pitt that has climbed into the top 25 of some national rankings.
