PITTSBURGH -- With the 2022 season over, the Pitt Panthers are well into the portion of their calendar dedicated to recruiting. Fresh off a dramatic win in the Sun Bowl, Pitt is hitting the recruiting trail hard.

1:00 PM

2024 West Bloomfield, Michigan product Kari Jackson, a four-star linebacker and Pitt target, has chosen Penn State. 

8:00 AM

Pitt secondaries coach Archie Collins extended an offer to three-star athlete Elias Owens of Mansfield, Ohio. Minnesota, Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan have already offered.  

7:00 AM

Pitt made the top 12 for Joshua Clarke, a three-star 2024 athlete from Flint Hill School in Alexandria, Virginia. Clarke has West Virginia, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Maryland, William & Mary, Michigan State and Virginia also in his list of finalists.

Jahmari Powell-Wonson, a three-star receiver per Rivals and the No. 29 player in Maryland's class of 2024, will visit Pittsburgh this spring. North Carolina, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Boston College, Syracuse and Virginia Tech had offered. 

6:00 AM

Kameron Courtney, a 2024 athlete from Freedom High School in Manassas, Virginia, has earned an offer from running backs coach Andre Powell and Pitt. He holds four offers in all from Duke, Boston College, James Madison and the Panthers, but Alabama, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Virginia and Virginia Tech have shown interest.

Stephen Thompson graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Pitt in April 2022 after spending four years as a sports writer and editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's independent, student-run newspaper.  He primarily worked the Pitt men's basketball beat, and filled in on coverage of football, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and lacrosse, in addition to other sports as needed. His work at The Pitt News has won awards from the Pennsylvania News Media Association and Associated College Press.  During the spring and summer of 2021, Stephen interned for Pittsburgh Sports Now, covering baseball in western Pennsylvania.
