PITTSBURGH -- With the 2022 season over, the Pitt Panthers are well into the portion of their calendar dedicated to recruiting. Fresh off a dramatic win in the Sun Bowl, Pitt is hitting the recruiting trail hard.

3:00 AM

Three-star safety Noah Jenkins, the No. 9 player in the state of Virginia, published a list of his top five schools and Pitt was among his finalists. The 2024 defensive back included the Panthers alongside Penn State, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss and Penn State in that list. 

10:30 AM

Pitt is in the top-four for consensus four-star receiver Keylen Adams of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The 2024 product is also rated as a top-five player in the state of Virginia and the top-25 among wide receivers in his class. Penn State, Baylor and Virginia Tech make of the rest of his finalists.

Two new offers are out after the Pitt football staff spent their Sunday on the recruiting trail. 

Peter Pesansky, a 2024 defensive end from Tampa, Florida, was the first. He's rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and holds offers from a handful of ACC schools - North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Duke and Wake Forest - among others.

Next, secondary coach Corey Sanders reached out to Isaiah Thomas, a 2024 defensive back from Toronto, Canada but attends the Clearwater International Academy in Florida, to extend an offer. Thomas holds an impressive offer sheet - Miami, Oklahoma, Florida, Penn State, Auburn and Ole Miss are some of the schools involved.

Stephen Thompson graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Pitt in April 2022 after spending four years as a sports writer and editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's independent, student-run newspaper.  He primarily worked the Pitt men's basketball beat, and filled in on coverage of football, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and lacrosse, in addition to other sports as needed.
