PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have not been shy about recruiting quarterbacks this offseason and they have put themselves in a good position to land their next signal-caller of the future.

Trever Jackson, a three-star quarterback in the class of 2024 has built a strong relationship with the Panthers, one so strong that he told Ryan Wright of Rivals that he has Pitt in his top five, alongside Indiana, Tulane, Appalachian State and Florida Atlantic.

Jackson told Wright his relationship with the coaching staff is what made him confident enough to put Pitt among the finalists. He also appreciated the opportunities he'd have to pursue a career in the NFL with the Panthers.

"I know their head coach Pat Narduzzi and coach [Frank] Cignetti," he said. "They always keep in contact with me and keep me up to date with the offense. They show a high level of interest in me. I like their facilities; it is next to the Steelers. It shows me you can be developed there and be right next to the big view; I like that. Kenny Pickett is a great example of Pitt developing him and sending him to the league. I feel they can do the same with me.”

247Sports has the 6'2, 185-pound West Orange High School product, Jackson pegged as the No. 82 player in Florida's 2024 class and the No. 41 quarterback in the class. On3, Rivals and 247Sports all rate him as a three-star. Jackson holds offers from Florida Atlantic, Coastal Carolina, Charlotte, Akron, Indiana, Appalachian State and UMass and had received interest from Ohio State, Florida State, UCF and Miami.
