PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have been active in Virginia this week, extending offers to a pair of 2025 prospects from the Tidewater, looking to capitalize on new momentum created by the addition of four-star 2024 center in Papa Kante.

The first was Silas Barksdale, an unrated power forward in the class of 2025 from Woodside High School in Newport News, Virginia. While there are no stars or rankings attached to his name just yet, Barksdale had picked up some high-level offers even before the Panthers reached out.

Tennessee, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, St. Louis, VCU, Seton Hall, Virginia Tech and Illinois are just some of the many programs to have extended scholarship offers to the 6'9, 225-pound forward.

An offer for fellow 2025 wing Jordan Scott, a 6'5 and 165-pound shooting guard from Reston, Virginia by way of South Lakes High School, came soon after.

Like Barksdale, Scott is unrated on the major recruiting sites but that won't last long. He has garnered interest from a trio of high major schools - Iowa, Penn State and Michigan State.- prior to Pitt extending an offer of their own.
