Purdue enters the postseason with a double-bye and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2023 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament at the United Center in Chicago.

So far this season, Edey is averaging 21.9 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 61.1 percent from the field and 72.7 percent from the free throw line.

Joining Edey on the list of first-team All-Big Ten selections include Indiana’s Trayce Jackson-Davis (coaches and media), Iowa’s Kris Murray (coaches and media), Penn State’s Jalen Pickett (coaches and media), Illinois’ Terrance Shannon (coaches), Northwestern’s Boo Buie (media) and Michigan’s Hunter Dickinson (media).

The Big Ten also honored Edey as one of five players on the conference's All-Defensive team.

Edey is the fifth Purdue player to be named Big Ten Player of the Year, and he is the third player from the program to lead the conference in both scoring and rebounding, joining Caleb Swanigan (2017) and Glenn Robinson (1994).

He is on pace to become the second player in Big Ten history and the first since Ohio State’s Gary Bradds during the 1963-64 season to lead the league in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage.

Edey was also tabbed a first-team All-American by Sporting News on Tuesday, one of four organizations used for consensus status. He is looking to be the fourth Boilermaker in the last seven seasons to be named a consensus All-American.
