It's been a rough last month for Mark Kingston and South Carolina's baseball program, who've not only lost three out of their last four conference series, including being swept by the Kentucky Wildcats this past weekend, but they've also lost multiple starters for prolonged periods of time. Second baseman Will McGillis, shortstop Braylen Wimmer and third baseman Talmadge LeCroy have all missed multiple series due to injury, but according to Mark Kingston, they could be set to return very soon.

On Monday, Kingston went on the midday show hosted by Jay Philips and Terry Ford of 107.5 The Game, a local radio station that serves as the primary partner for South Carolina athletics. On the show, Kingston went into detail regarding possible timeframes for all of the aforementioned players to return, stating that both Will McGillis and Talmadge LeCroy could play in South Carolina's upcoming midweek game against North Florida. He also said that shortstop Braylen Wimmer could return as early as next week, and that was where the good news slowed to a crawl.

Will Tippett, who's been the Gamecocks' starting second baseman since April 18th, is currently dealing with a wrist injury, making it all the more imperative that South Carolina gets a healthy Will McGillis back in the field soon. Relief pitcher Eli Jerzembeck, who left the third game of the series against Kentucky, is still being evaluated back in Columbia, while starting pitcher Noah Hall is still a ways away from coming back from his injury.

He also shed light on versatile relief pitcher Chris Veach, who apparently was dealing with a sore arm this past weekend, but felt better on Sunday. South Carolina still has two conference series' remaining before postseason play begins, and if they wish to maintain a Top 8 national seed, they'll likely need some of their starters back that have been dearly missed for the past few weeks.
