South Carolina To Face Florida In Super Regionals
Mark Kingston and South Carolina's Baseball team were in cruise control for the majority of regional weekend. Besides a stretch where the Gamecocks had to hold onto a narrow three-run lead over the NC State Wolfpack in the winner's bracket, there wasn't really any point where it seemed like South Carolina had to break a sweat.
That likely won't be the case this upcoming weekend, as after the conclusion of the Gainesville regional, which was paired with the Columbia regional, the Gamecocks are set to do battle once again with the Florida Gators. South Carolina will have to make the trip down to the Sunshine State due to the fact that Florida is the higher ranked national seed.
Both of these SEC ball clubs clashed in the regular season, with the Gamecocks getting the best of the Gators in a series sweep in Columbia. Since that time Florida has won 17 of their last 22 games, while South Carolina comparatively speaking, lost 13 of their 18 games leading into the NCAA Tournament.
With both teams seemingly finding their groove at just the right time, this Super Regional is sure to be one of the most intriguing matchups this upcoming weekend.
