Not much can be said about South Carolina's short season thus far. South Carolina has looked nearly untouchable, blowing out most of the opponents they have faced. The Gamecocks, who were unbeaten heading into Tuesday's matchup against North Carolina A&T, have looked like one of the best teams in the nation so far, thanks to their explosive offense.

The Gamecocks started the season rolling through their first five games, but trouble arose in the three-game series against Penn. Despite the challenge the Quakers gave South Carolina during the series, the Gamecocks completed the sweep and remained unbeaten.

After the challenging series against Penn, the Gamecocks were looking for a more relieving game against NC A&T and found just that, taking down the Aggies 11-3. The Gamecocks rolled out a bull-pen game Tuesday, throwing six different pitchers.

James Hicks started for the Gamecocks and threw two hitless innings. Though Hicks started for the Gamecocks, the win was awarded to Eli Jones, who threw three innings. Like Hicks, Jones did not allow a single hit.

The Gamecocks' offense continued their explosive performances with another double-digit hit night. Offensive efforts were led by Cole Messina, who went 1-3 with two RBIs and a double, and Ethan Petry, who went 2-3 with three RBIs. Will McGillis continued his impressive display of power, knocking his fifth homer of the year.

All three of the Aggies' runs came in the seventh off of back-to-back doubles from the Aggies' Second Baseman Tre Williams and Catcher Canyon Brown. Though NC A&T was finding some late-game momentum, South Carolina's Trey Wheeler was brought in and got two outs to end the run.

South Carolina has their first mini-break this season before traveling to Clemson on Friday for the first game of the Palmetto Series.
